What Is COOLWALL®?

TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® is a heat-reflective exterior wall coating system built around infrared-reflective pigments and a high-build finish. Instead of absorbing as much of the sun’s near-infrared energy as conventional dark coatings, the system is designed to reflect more of that energy away from the wall surface.

The manufacturer describes COOLWALL® SUPER-COTE™ Finish as a heat-reflective exterior wall coating with superior durability and fade resistance.

Exterior Paint Has a Tough Job in Southern California

Sun, heat, wind, moisture, movement and age all work against an exterior finish. Over time, homeowners may see fading, chalking, cracking, peeling, worn stucco surfaces or repeated maintenance cycles.

A coating system is only as good as the surface underneath it. That is why proper evaluation, repair and preparation matter before the finish coat ever goes on.

How COOLWALL® Works

The system combines reflective pigment technology with a purpose-built primer and finish-coat approach.

☀️

Reflect More Solar Heat

Patented infrared-reflective technology is designed to reduce solar heat absorbed by the exterior wall.

🎨

Fight Color Fade

FADE BLOCK™ technology is engineered to improve color stability and fade resistance—even in darker colors.

🛡️

High-Build Protection

The coating forms a substantially thicker protective finish than ordinary paint while remaining breathable.

Preparation Is Part of the System

The goal is not to simply coat over existing problems. The exterior should be evaluated and prepared so the new coating has a sound surface to bond to.

  1. Inspect: identify cracking, damaged stucco, failing coatings, wood deterioration and other problem areas.
  2. Prepare: clean the exterior and remove loose or unsound material as appropriate.
  3. Repair: address approved stucco and substrate repairs before coating.
  4. Prime: use the appropriate COOLWALL® primer for the existing substrate and condition.
  5. Finish: apply the specified COOLWALL® finish system.

Protection Should Still Look Beautiful

COOLWALL® is available in a broad range of colors and in smooth, sand, fine or coarse finishes. That gives homeowners room to update curb appeal without giving up the performance story behind the coating.

Color and finish availability can vary by substrate, project conditions and the specific system selected.

Built Around the Home — Not a One-Size-Fits-All Estimate

Every exterior is different. The right system starts with the existing surface, condition of the stucco or substrate, repair needs, color choice and total project scope.

Manufacturer Warranty

Ask about current TEX•COTE® residential warranty coverage for the specific system proposed for your home. Coverage, eligibility, exclusions and transfer terms are governed by the manufacturer’s written warranty in effect for the project.

Financing Options

Financing programs may be available for qualified homeowners. We can review the purchase options that fit the project after the home and scope are evaluated.
